Bamboo Mattress Protector

A eucalyptus-based antibacterial fabric in a fitted sheet style, so it covers the top and all four sides of your mattress and stays put.

It is designed to be breathable rather than plastic-backed, which is the usual trade-off with protectors. A sealed vinyl protector will stop liquid but it also traps heat and undermines the breathability you paid for when you bought a latex mattress.

Yes, for two reasons.

First, latex must never be soaked or machine washed. A single spill without a protector is a genuine problem. Second, a protector is a warranty consideration. Staining and soiling are not manufacturing faults, and a protected mattress stays in warrantable condition.

At $89 against a mattress costing well over a thousand dollars, it is the cheapest insurance in the house.

Usually yes, but measure first. The protector is sized to fit a standard mattress depth. Add a 5cm latex topper and you are asking it to stretch over meaningfully more height.

Most customers fit the protector over the mattress and topper together, which is what we recommend since it holds the two layers as one surface. If your combined depth is unusual, call 02 9436 4870 and we will confirm before you order.

Single, Long Single, King Single, Double, Queen and King, matching standard Australian mattress sizes.

Order the same size as your mattress. The fitted skirt handles the depth.

Machine wash cool or warm on a gentle cycle and line dry. Avoid hot water, bleach and fabric softener, all of which degrade the fabric and reduce its breathability.

Skip the tumble dryer where you can. High heat is the fastest way to shorten the life of any bamboo or eucalyptus fibre.

No. This is the main reason we stock a eucalyptus-based fabric protector rather than a laminated waterproof one.

Cheap protectors use a polyurethane or vinyl backing that crackles when you move and traps heat against your body. Ours behaves like a fitted sheet, quiet and breathable, which is the point when the mattress underneath was chosen for its airflow.
